I am a foodie. There’s no denying it. And every single time I read a book about food, I often myself transfixed on searching Yelp for places that might possibly have the mouth-watering dishes described in the story rather than the story itself.

But not this one.

I burned through ALL FOUR STARS and at the end, I just sat and thought about the book awhile.

There’s so many words to describe ALL FOUR STARS, entertaining, real and amazing at the very top. ALL FOUR STARS is a genuine pleasure to read and I enjoyed every word of it. It’s a fun, quick story and Gladys will have you guessing as to what’s next the whole way through. The way she grew in this story really impressed me as she branched out, made new friends, tried new things and ultimately reached her happy ending.

I only thing that I felt was lacking in this book was recipes! Instead of a playlist, someone should do a post with Tara Dairman on her recipes that inspired this book. Everything else was great. I enjoyed the feel of this contemporary novel and Gladys’s antics kept me amused whenever it started to go a little slow.

Also, I loved the format that the ARC was printed in. It made reading the book an experience, and I truly think that’s the way format ought to be treated. The inside is beautiful and fun, so I hope it is kept that way.

I absolutely adored the characters. There was not a single one that I disliked, and I loved the lessons that Gladys was able to learn through her support network and the people that she met. Her friendship with Sandy was heartwarming to read about and I did not expect Dairman to resolve Gladys’s situation the way she did. I really liked Gladys’s personality especially, how brave and true and open minded she is with all the different food in the world. I definitely would not be opposed to seeing more of Gladys and her adventures, but I truly did enjoy the ending of ALL FOUR STARS and I think that Dairman tied things up extremely well. 4.5 stars.
